The Experience
Japanese technique.
Peruvian soul.
This is a hands-on experience built around cooking, creating, and sharing together. You'll work alongside the chef, learning techniques, preparing each dish as a group, and having fun along the way. By the end, everything you've created comes to the table and the cooking class becomes a shared meal.
Nikkei cuisine grew from the meeting of Japanese and Peruvian cultures. Japanese precision and respect for ingredients found a new language in Peru through citrus, chiles, seafood, and bold Peruvian flavors. Two culinary traditions coming together to create something entirely their own.

Meet the Chef
Alvaro Luna
Born in Lima and based in New York City, Alvaro Luna brings together the two worlds that have shaped his life: art and food. A professional artist, chef instructor, and educator, he approaches cooking with the same curiosity, intuition, and visual sensibility he brings to his studio practice.
His Nikkei experience grows from his Peruvian roots and his fascination with the Japanese influence that transformed Peru’s culinary culture. For Alvaro, cooking is more than following a recipe. It is about creating, experimenting, sharing, and bringing people together around the table.
